Village du Lac de Carcès

A tiny village on the hill, looking down over the lake. It is around 6 km from the town of Carces, and 10 km from Brignoles. The few houses are scattered along the slope, and surrounded by pine trees. The view of the lake and surrounding hills is simply breathtaking.

Lac de Carcès

Covering more than 100ha, the lake is the fishermen paradise, renowned for pike, crayfish and trout fishing**. The lake provides clean water for the town of Toulon*. As a result, this unspoiled and truly breathtaking part of Green Provence has been declared preservation area, which means that no more building (industrial in particular) is allowed in the area. This zero-pollution approach has resulted in exceptional air quality.

*Swimming is not allowed in the lake. There is another small lake nearby where swimming is permitted.
**Licence is required to fish in the lake. This can be arranged in advance.
